Larry Counts

Passed away on August 24, 2020

Larry Counts, born November 6th, 1963, of Beecher, IL formerly of Hegewisch, left this physical world on August 24th of 2020, surrounded by his faithful family. Husband to Kerri (nee Caliban), his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 36 years; father and mentor to loving children, Robert and Jessye (Will Maldonado); loyal brother and friend to John (Bake) Counts and Marsha Counts; attentive nephew to his esteemed aunts, Ann and Martha; also survived by his sister-in-law Angie (Ed), brother-in-law Joe (Mary), father and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Jane. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Billy and Mildred Counts. Larry was truly pivotal in the lives of many of his close and extended family, which also includes the friends that became family. Despite never completing a formal education, and in addition to his life long growth as a human, Larry developed incredible skills in mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, farming, and his chickens produced the most delicious eggs. A “Celebration of Larry’s Life” will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 12:00 noon until time of service at 4:00 pm at the Centennial Park Amphitheater 900 N. Centennial Dr., Munster, Indiana 46321.  With the memorial being outside the family requests you dress comfortably for the day.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and state and local health officials wearing masks and social distancing is required.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Miles for Migraine in Larry’s name.  Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Funeral Chapel, St. John.  For more information 219-365-3474.
