Maria Lidia Velazquez (Fondly known as Doña Lidia), age 87,  passed away peacefully on August 10, 2020 at home in Chicago. Beloved wife of the late Jose Rodriguez. Loving mother of Carmen (Jose) Candelaria, Norma (Efrain) Villarreal and Awilda (Miguel) Vilella. Devoted grandmother of Arminda (Francisco) Mendez, Elizabeth Candelaria, late Joey Candelaria, Iris Rodriguez and Angelica Vilella. Cherished great-grandmother of Anais, Alyssa, Alexia, Miguel and Gabriel. Dear daughter of the late Alonso and late Josefa Velazquez. Maria is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Mariana Velez and many brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Visitation Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 2-9 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617. Prayer service will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
