Passed away on August 2, 2020

Abelardo “Abe” Rodriguez, age 57.  Late of St. John, Indiana formerly of Chicago, Illinois.  Passed away August 2, 2020.  Beloved husband of Ana (nee Maldonado) for 31 years.  Loving father of Tamarise Maldonado, Andrew (Brittany) Rodriguez, Nicholas (Courtney) Rodriguez, and Daniel Rodriguez.  Cherished grandfather of Liliana and Liam Espinoza, Sophia, Reese, and Gianna Rodriguez.  Abe is also survived by his brothers, sisters, brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his dog Boomer.  He is preceded in death by his parents Fidel and Maria Rodriguez and father in law Felipe Maldonado.  Abe was a retired business agent for IBEW Local #134.  He loved riding his motor cycle and was a member of the South Chicago Riding Group.  Visitation Thursday, August 6, 2020 2-9 pm.  Funeral Services Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:00 am from the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97^th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97^th LN.) St. John to St Mary Church, East Chicago.  Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am.  Interment private.  Due to the current Covid – 19 pandemic and state and local health officials, if you are attending the visitation or funeral services masks are required.  For more information 219-365-3474.
