Jesse T. Bates, age 65. Late of Cedar Lake, In. Passed away on July 3, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved Husband of Denise Bates (nee Noel) for 47 years. Loving father of Christian (Michelle) Bates, Jennifer (Charlie) Dorrance, and Jessica Bates. Cherished grandfather of USMC PFC. Natalie Kirby, Alex Finck, Matt Bates, Madelyn Kirby, Allison Bates, Jordon Finck, and James Finck. Survived by his step-mother Mickie Bates. Fond uncle of many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Jesse was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he retired as a machinist from Ford Motor Company after 30 years. Jesse was a genealogist, avid bowler, Chicago Cubs fan, loved music, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel – Cedar Lake 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way (1/2 block south of 133rd Ave. across from the library at Lincoln Plaza Way.) Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. For more information 219-374-9300.
