"I met Coach Al in 1961. My freshman year at St. Francis DeSales. It was also Al’s first year at DeSales also. He was my Football coach,my basketball coach. And in my Junior year he took over the varsity baseball team. And the rest is history. I’m proud to have been there for his first varsity win and the first of many conference championships. He was always “Coach”. But he was more than that,he was a friend and his friendship is what I’ve cherished all these years. I cannot be there to honor Coach personally,as I have a family member who has an illness that will keep me away. But my love that I have for this man has never wavered. My sincere condolences to Al’s family and to all of us for our loss. R.I.P. Coach"
