Hugh McCafferty, age 90, late of the East Side passed away on May 24, 2020. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sarah (nee O’Donnell), parents James and Ellen (nee McNeely) McCafferty, brothers James, Sean, Patrick and sisters Maureen and Sarah “Sadie”. Loving father of Brian McCafferty, Dennis (Elaine) McCafferty, Hugh Anthony McCafferty and Ann (Donald) Majka. Devoted grandfather of Brian Joseph, Sarah, Kelsey, and Allison McCafferty, Donald Jr. (Jennie), and Ryan Majka. Cherished great-grandfather of Ayden Joseph McCafferty. Dear brother of Edward, Eunan, Thomas and Kathleen. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Veteran of the United States Army and retired employee of U.S. Steel South Works. A private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood chapel Chicago, IL.
