Audrey L. Gonella (nee Dorsha), age 89.  Late of Crete, Illinois.  Passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020.  Beloved wife of the late John D. Gonella.  Loving mother of Robert J. (Gail) Brady, Stacie M. (Jack) Gilmore, and Christine M. (Darryl “Butch”) Batterman.  Cherished grandmother of Amy (Bryan) Ierardi, Erin (Mike) Masters, Joshua Batterman, Jessica Batterman, Rachel Batterman, Kena Sievert, and Kelly Lardi.  Dearest great grandmother of Max and Finn Masters.  Dear sister of the late Walter (late Janet) Dorsha.  Audrey was a retired employee of Richard D. Irwin, Inc.  She had many talents and loved to sew, knit, cook, garden, and fish. She always looked forward to spending time with family and passing traditions on to her grandchildren that she adored.  Audrey also enjoyed volunteering and spending time with her friends. 

Audrey was a strong and uplifting woman who tried to make the best of every situation.  She always knew how to make her loved ones feel special and important with her unconditional love.  She will be deeply missed.

Visitation Friday, May 29, 2020 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:30 am at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97 th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97 th LN.)
