Augustine Garcia, Jr., “Augie”, age 55, late of Calumet City, IL and formerly of South Chicago passed away on February 16, 2020. Loving father of Stephanie Perez, Alicia Garcia, Max Garcia, and Jessica Lundgren. Dear grandfather of Hector Mejia. Dear son of the late Augustine, Sr. and the late Alicia Garcia. Devoted brother of A. Nancy Garcia, Belia Garcia, Yolanda (Henry) DelValle, Lydia (Martin) Harnois and Irma (late Manuel) Garcia. Fond uncle of Robert E. Flores, Sr., late Richard J. Flores, Rosalinda (Anthony) Verganza, Angel DelValle, Elsa Coy and Manuel (Laura) Garcia. Great-uncle of Robert E. Flores, Jr., Jamour Flores, Lilliana Flores-Olson, Nicholas Flores-McGrath, Rickele Coy and Stella Garcia. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Augustine was one of a kind. Not only was Augustine generous, smart, considerate, but was a friend to many. Anyone who knew him knew that he would give you the shirt off of his back. He loved to be surrounded by friends, family, and his children. His presence brought smiles and laughter. With Augustine, you were guaranteed a good laugh. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation Friday 3-9 p.m. Funeral services Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617 to Church of the Annunciata. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.
