"Dear Mona, Upon knowing Super (Uncle) Dave (that's how we call him in our jazz community of friends) passing, my heart sank, can't help the sadness in me. He was a very dear friend with a great sense of humor...he made us laugh, he made us "cry" (tears of joy) we kid around when we're All "together" in a chat box called Smooth Jazz Chicago. We'll truly miss him for sure.. SD, may you rest in peace in heaven. You'll be in my thoughts and prayer ~ Cora "

"Dave was a dear friend whose passion for music and the Blackhawks immediately gave the two of us common ground. His regular presence at so many events over the years (concerts and Sunday brunches presented by the radio station I worked for at the time), with his wonderful wife, Mona, will be among my fondest memories. To Mona I send my sympathies during this difficult time of loss. "
