Passed away on November 28, 2019


Lillian J. Sak, (nee Haase) age 91, late of the East Side passed away on November 28, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Sak. Loving mother of Thomas (Michelle) Sak. Devoted grandmother of Edwin Sak, Samantha Sak, and Hayden Sak. Dear daughter of the late William and late Frances (Doherty) Haase. Dearest sister of Eleanor (late Bob) Bratcher, late Bill (late MaryLee) Haase, late Walter Haase, late Marian (late Ben) West and late Carolyn “Yippy” (late Pete) Stamos. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Lillian was a longtime volunteer with the Special Olympics as well at South Chicago / Trinity Hospital. She loved her grandchildren and family, playing bocce, bowling, martinis, television, and reading the paper.  She was a chaperone for St. Francis de Sales High School “Ski Club” trips, enjoyed road trips to her son Tom’s college football games, and traveling around the world with her friends and family. Later in life Lillian really enjoyed simply spending time with her loved ones and close friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation Friday, December 6, 2019 DIRECTLY at Church of the Annunciata (11128 S. Ave. G Chicago, IL 60617) from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.

"Please accept the Pienton family’s condolences on the passing of Lillian We literally lived down the street from one another I will remember Mrs, Sak as a kind person who found the time to take interest in my life. My growing up School. Sports. Scouting. Cocktail hour. Mrs. Sak was there. (So too was Mr. Sak.) I like to think that Lillian and Edwin are finally back together catching up. "So sorry for your loss. Lil was a wonderful, caring person who always brightened the room. She was a longtime member of Annunciata St. Vincent de Paul Society and worked in and for our food pantry until she was no longer physically able. She was a blessing from God who will be sorely missed. "
