Passed away on November 6, 2019

Gildardo P. Flores (known to many as Dad), age 90.  Late of South Chicago.  Passed away November 6, 2019.  Beloved husband of the late Nellie Flores.  Loving father of Gil (Alma) Flores, Minerva (late Sergio) Jaquez, Dora (Tony) Temores, Salvador (Rosa) Valle, and the late Celia Valle.  Cherished grandfather of Vanessa, Gil, Jasmynn, Jordan, and many more grandchildren.  Dearest great grandfather of Audrey, Montgomery, Maxwell, as well as many more great grandchildren.  Gil was a proud combat veteran, tanker with the Heavy Tank Company – 7^th Infantry Division, decorated soldier, Bronze Star recipient for the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was a longtime draftsman of John Moore and Son.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #220.  Gil was a dedicated traveler and adventurer traveling around North America, Central America, and Asia.  Visitation Thursday, November 14, 2019 2-9 pm.  Funeral Services Friday, November 15, 2019 at 8:45 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 am.  Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. 773-731-2749 www.elmwoodchapel.com
