Esperanza Rodriguez, (nee Ornelas), age 95, late of Whiting, IN and formerly of South Chicago passed away on November 2, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Jose A. Rodiguez “Joe”. Loving mother of Xavier “Harvey” (Rocio) Rodriguez, Noel (Diana) Rodriguez, Maria “Nelva” (John) Heredia, Arthur “Archie” (Grace) Rodriguez, Nora Flores, Martha (Louie) Rosado) and Hope “Pansy” DeLapaz. Devoted grandmother of Paul (Laura) Rodriguez, Beverly (Joe) Jacinto, Martin (Lisa) Flores, Tracy (John) Curran, Gina (Ramon) Rosas, Jenny (Vincent) Gomez, Christina (Alex) Diaz, Noel Rodriguez, Jr., Xavier Rodriguez, Matthew (Monique) Andino, Justine Rojas,  Carla “Lala” (Robert) Bautista,  Katie Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez, Xavier Rodriguez, Jr., Albert (Christina) Santiago and Kristin Rodriguez. Cherished great-grandmother of 26 and great-great-grandmother of 1.Dear daughter of late Florentino and late Josefina Ornelas. Dearest sister of Amparo (late Ramon) Ramirez and Piedad (late Jacobo) Gomez. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her siblings Manuel Ornelas, Isaura Castro, Guadalupe Ornelas, Sebastiana Granados, Benito Ornelas and Celia Marin. Esperanza was a former member of the South Chicago YMCA and was a “First Class” Seamstress. Visitation Wednesday 2-9 p.m. Funeral services Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 8:45 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
