George F. Dunbar, age 79, late of Cedar Lake, IN and formerly of Constantine, MI and Crete, IL passed away on September 27, 2019. Beloved husband of Shirley Dunbar (nee Casper) for 53 years. Loving father of Kenneth Dunbar of Three Rivers, MI and Hugh (Jennifer) Dunbar of New Lenox, IL. Devoted grandfather of Nicholas, Brittany, Alison and Linsey Dunbar. Cherished great-grandfather of Amir Dunbar. Dear son of the late Kenneth and late Margaret Dunbar. Dearest brother of Mary Faye (late Louis James) Bayer, Hugh (Carole) Dunbar, Douglas (Barrie) Dunbar, Frances Earley and the late Kenneth Dunbar. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. U.S. Army Veteran. Former employee of Lang’s Auto Parts, South Chicago Heights, IL. Visitation Monday, September 30, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel & Crematory 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way (1/2 block South of 133rd across from the Cedar Lake Public Library), Cedar Lake, IN 46303. “Celebration of Life Services” at 7:30 p.m. will take place Monday evening at the funeral home.
