Transito T. Mata, age 91, late of the East Side and formerly of South Chicago, passed away September 6, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Loreto Mata. Loving father of Maribel (Lyle) Benedict, Gerardo (Guadalupe) Mata and Gabriela (Brian Schab) Mata. Cherished grandfather of Robin, Gerardo Jr., Nina, Javier, Benjamin and Isabella. Adored great grandfather of Aaliyah and Javier Jr. Dear brother and uncle of many. Visitation Friday 2-9pm. Funeral services Saturday, September 14, 2019 11:15am prayers from Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S.
