Josephine L. “Jo” Ruman, age 94. Late of St. John formerly of Whiting.  Passed away August 19, 2019.  Beloved wife of the late Bernard “Bernie”.  Loving mother of Virginia “Ginny” Ruman, Christine (Jim) Scalchas, Carol (Dave) Kirchhoff, Kathleen (Lynn) Patton, Janet Watson, the late Richard (Jennifer) Ruman, and the late Thomas Ruman.  Cherished grandmother of Shelly, Sondra, Becca, Ally, Aaron, George, Andy, Stephanie, and Nicholas.  Dearest great grandmother of Dakota.  Dear sister of Marie and the late Margaret.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Jo loved to cook and bake.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church.  Visitation and Funeral Services Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 9:30 am until time of prayers at 10:30 am at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97^th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97^th LN.) St. John to St. John the Evangelist Church – Day Chapel (Corner of 93^rd and 41).  Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am with Rev. Sammie Maletta officiating.  Interment Calumet Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Last Chance Rescue (www.lcrescue.org) in Jo’s name.
