Phyllis worked in the Chicago Loop and then at Lever Brothers in Whiting, Indiana before devoting herself to her life’s work as a wonderful homemaker and mother.  Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Clara (nee Mizwicki) and John Vereb as well as an infant grandson, Christopher Michael.  Phyllis’ faith in our Lord and Savior was strong.  A long-standing member of Our Lady of Consolation Church, every week Phyllis attended the Saturday evening Mass and always could be seen in the same pew by the church’s north entrance.  She especially enjoyed shopping trips to Geneva, Illinois and occasional trips to the Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan.  In recent years she also enjoyed visiting her daughter and son-in-law in Franklin, Tennessee and learning about Civil War history.
