Andrew J. Dobda Jr, Sgt. CPD, age 47. Late of Hegewisch. Passed away July 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Carla (nee Chengary). Loving son of Andrew J. Dobda Sr. and late Beverly Dobda (nee Koblack). Dearest son in law of Ace (Sally) Chengary and Rena Dean. Dear nephew of Sandra (John) McCaughlin, late Donald “Blondie” (Dorothy) Koblack, late Edward “Butch” (late Barbara) Koblack, late Walter “Buttons” (Linda) Koblack, George (late Irene) Dobda, and Joseph Dobda. Also survived by many cousins and friends. Preceded in death by grandparents Andrew Dobda and Mary B Dobda (nee Zurek) and Edward and Jennie Koblack and cousins Michelle James and Kerry Novak. Andrew was a Sergeant for the Chicago Police Department and a board member for the Chicago Police Department Sergeant’s Union. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, loved going to the movies, and watching the Chicago Blackhawks. Visitation Friday, July 22, 2022 2-9 pm. Funeral Services Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 9:15 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to Christ Our Light Church (formerly St. Florian Church). Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Chicago Police Department Memorial Fund preferred. For more information 773-731-2749.
